CPU, RAM, Battery, and local network facts stay on this device. They are not uploaded to Novalume Labs.
Public IP
Public IP is off until you tap Look up on Network. That tap sends one request, in order, to ipinfo, ipify, Cloudflare, and ifconfig.me, and stops at the first success. Those hosts see your public IP. ipinfo may also return city, region, country, and org, which the Network tab can show. The app does not keep latitude, longitude, postal code, or timezone from that response.
Reachability
On iPhone, iPad, and visionOS, Reachability is off until you tap Probe. That tap sends HTTPS HEAD, then GET if needed, to Apple, Cloudflare, Wikipedia, IETF, IANA, and Quad9. Those hosts see your public IP. tvOS does not run Reachability.
Third parties
Look up and Probe are the only times Ostatus sends data off the device, and only to the hosts named on this page. Novalume Labs does not sell that data, does not use it for advertising or analytics, and does not receive a server log of the request. Each host’s own privacy policy governs what that host keeps. We do not add an analytics SDK, ad network, or other third-party collection library. If a host’s policy is weaker than this page, do not tap Look up or Probe.
Retention
On this device, a Public IP sample and Reachability rows stay until you tap Clear or delete the app. Novalume Labs keeps no server copy and has no account data to delete. Unlock receipts stay with Apple. We cannot delete logs on ipinfo, ipify, Cloudflare, ifconfig.me, or the Probe hosts; write to those services if you want their copies removed.
Withdraw
Clear on the Network card withdraws consent for further Look up or Probe requests. Ostatus will not send another request until you tap Look up or Probe again.
Purchases
Unlock is a StoreKit purchase processed by Apple. Novalume Labs does not receive your payment card.
Account
There is no Ostatus account and no analytics SDK. Novalume Labs does not keep a server copy of your meter samples.
